Overseeing police integrity

Handling complaints

As the integrity oversight body for the QPS, we work with the QPS Ethical Standards Command to handle complaints about, and investigations into the conduct of police.

We also monitor how the QPS deals with complaints against its members, and work to strengthen the culture of integrity with the Service.

Conducting research

We carry out extensive research into police service methods, police powers and law enforcement.

Find further information in police powers and practice and research and publications.

Police Service Reviews

Commissioners nominated by the CMC arbitrate on any grievances police officers may have about promotions, transfers and disciplinary matters (other than misconduct). A secretariat within the CMC supports the Commissioners and coordinates review hearings.
