Performance snapshot

Since civil confiscation was introduced in Queensland (at the beginning of 2003), we have had considerable success in removing the monetary gain and increasing the financial loss associated with illegal activity.

From 1 January 2003 to 30 June 2012, the CMC has restrained property valued at more than $145 million and has confiscated more than $38 million of illegally derived property.

Much of our success is due to the efforts of our partner agencies including the DPP, which acts as our solicitor for civil confiscation matters, and the QPS, which is responsible for many of the investigations that result in confiscation actions.
