Our employees come from a wide range of professional, academic and work backgrounds, and bring a variety of skill sets to their work with us. At present we employ about 320 staff in administrative, professional, managerial and executive roles.

- Complaints officers receive, record and assess complaints which come via phone, fax, letter, email, through our website, or in person. These officers are usually people with highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Financial investigators identify, analyse and integrate evidence relating to investigations into fraud and major crime. Read more about investigative accounting careers.
- Indigenous liaison and education officers help ensure sensitive and effective communication between the state’s Indigenous communities and the CMC about misconduct issues and those that affect Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people in the criminal justice system.
- Intelligence analysts collect, collate and analyse data to assist with strategic and tactical operations. Read more about intelligence careers in the CMC.
- Investigators work within a multidisciplinary team to conduct investigations into misconduct in the public sector. They assess complaints and other information, and participate in interviews and searches to gather evidence. Our investigators must have prior experience of working within a law enforcement environment.
- Lawyers provide legal advice on the handling of complaints, conducting investigations into misconduct in the public sector and major crime, preparing briefs, conducting public and private hearings, proposing legislative reform in connection with policing and the criminal justice system, and interpreting complex legal and factual issues relating to freedom of information and whistleblowing. - Misconduct prevention officers are usually people who have worked in responsible positions in other parts of the public sector (e.g. local government, the Queensland Police Service, state government departments) and now provide advice to public sector officials on preventing misconduct.
- Police officers are seconded from the Queensland Police Service to work in specialist roles in the CMC, including investigations, intelligence, surveillance, witness protection, and technical and forensic computer support.
- Research officers undertake research to prepare reports on matters concerning crime and the administration of justice. They provide analysis and advice on issues such as sexual offending, victimisation, drug markets and policing. They are usually qualified in criminology, social science or law. - Corporate support officers work in areas such as administration, corporate governance, finance, human resources, information technology, library services, media liaison, publishing, records management, secretarial services and security.
- Entry-level administrative jobs: From time to time we have vacancies for entry-level administrative jobs, which may be for casual, temporary or permanent positions.
