Research careers
The CMC Applied Research and Evaluation unit conducts research on crime, criminal justice, policing and public sector misconduct. Our research provides the evidence base for the CMC’s contribution to public policy issues, including recommendations for legislative, policy and practice change. Our research staff provide data analysis and interpretation on issues such as sexual offending, crime prevention, drug markets, policing and law reform.
As a researcher with the CMC you will:
- Contribute to the evidence base through rigorous research and evaluation
- Work in multidisciplinary teams comprising legal specialists, police officers, public sector and criminal justice professionals, and communications and media staff
- Engage with members of the public who respond to surveys and provide submissions to inquiries and reviews
- Collaborate and share knowledge with other public sector and criminal justice professionals.
To work at the CMC you will need to have tertiary qualifications in criminology, law, psychology, statistics or research methods.
