In July 2006, new laws were introduced into the Police Powers and Responsibilities Act 2000 (Qld) to deal with noisy off-road motorbikes. The new laws require the CMC to review their effectiveness in reducing excessive noise from motorbikes being ridden off-road and to prepare a public report.
Update December 2008 Public CommentIn June 2008, the CMC called for public comment for this review. Due to the degree of public interest in this subject, we did continue to accept submissions after the closing date of 15 August 2008. We are now in the process of analysing the submissions and drafting the report. Written submissions have been published on our website (unless confidentiality was requested or there was some other reason preventing their publication). Submissions from private citizens have been edited to omit any personal information or other details which could lead to the identification of the author. Thank you to everyone who has taken an interest in our review and provided their comments. Your submissions have provided us with much valuable information.
