Complaints about police officersThe CMC does not deal with minor inappropriate conduct on the part of police or client service issues such as rudeness to a member of the public, or a failure to respond quickly. In such cases, contact the Queensland Police Service. The CMC deals with complaints of ‘official misconduct’ or ‘police misconduct’. For more information see Complaints to the CMC. Reviews of the police serviceThe CMC conducts police service reviews for the Queensland Police Service, which enable police officers to appeal against decisions on promotions, transfers, suspensions, stand-downs, dismissals and disciplinary matters (other than misconduct). Research into policingThe CMC conducts research into matters related to our core functions, especially criminal activity, police service methods, police powers, law enforcement by police and the improvement of the public service. See research.
