It is possible that your complaint might be better handled by another complaints-handling or law enforcement body. As a general guide:
For complaints about Queensland police officers,
contact the CMC or the QPS. (All complaints made to the QPS are passed on to the CMC.) For complaints about public sector officials or anyone dealing with public sector officials (including prison officers),
contact the CMC. For complaints about the fairness and legality of administrative actions and decisions taken by State Government departments, local governments and public authorities,
contact the Queensland Ombudsman. For complaints regarding any form of unfair discrimination in the workplace,
contact the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Commission. For other unfair discrimination matters (not State or local government),
contact the Human Rights Program. For complaints about the CMC or the former CJC,
contact the Parliamentary Crime and Misconduct Committee. For employment disputes,
contact the Department of Employment (Industrial Inspectors) or your Union. For matters related to pollution,
contact the Environmental Protection Agency initially and then, if necessary, the CMC. For matters related to real estate agents, auctioneers and motor car dealers,
contact the Office of Fair Trading. For complaints about newspapers,
contact the Australian Press Council, Sydney. For complaints about radio and television stations,
contact the Australian Communications and Media Authority. For neighbourhood problems,
contact the Community Justice Program or Neighbourhood Centres or the Queensland Police Service. For complaints about banking services,
contact the Banking Ombudsman (1300 780 808). For problems with electricity supply, power surges or damage to property,
contact the Electricity Regulator (3235 4165). For complaints about any insurance-related matter,
contact Insurance Enquiries and Complaints Ltd (1300 363 683). To give information about company fraud,
contact the Police Service or Corporate Affairs. For town planning matters,
contact the Planning and Environment Court (07 3247 5407). For matters related to valuations,
contact the Land Court or the Land Appeal Court (07 3247 5193). For a complaint about a solicitor,
contact the Queensland Law Society or the Legal Ombudsman. For private legal disputes,
contact the Legal Aid Office (1300 651 188) or private solicitors. For a problem with a home unit,
contact the Building Units Referee, Department of Justice (07 3239 3520). For a matter related to a health provider,
contact the Health Rights Commission (1800 077 308). To give information about paedophilia and organised crime,
contact the CMC. If you are a senior office holder in the public sector and need advice about a potential conflict of interest,
contact the Office of the Queensland Integrity Commissioner. For advice and guidance to public sector entities, officials, and private citizens about their rights and obligations under the Public Sector Ethics Act and the Whistleblowers Protection Act,
contact the Office of the Public Service Commissioner (formally the Office of Public Service Merit and Equity). For an external review of an agency's decision about Freedom of Information (FIO),
