Our organisation

Fast facts
Snapshot of who we are and what we do.
What we do
The CMC has investigative, law enforcement, intelligence, witness protection, adjudicative and research functions that encompass almost all aspects of the criminal justice system.
Accountability and leadership
We are a statutory body, independent of the government of the day, but accountable to the Parliamentary Crime and Misconduct Committee. We are headed by a five-member group referred to as 'the Commission'.
Our beginnings
The CMC came into existence on 1 January 2002 with the merger of the Criminal Justice Commission and the Queensland Crime Commission.
